Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her role in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with many well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen in the role of Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. As it is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney Digital Television's channels. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the show. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over a century. Her two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive was her first big character. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. Also, she has been on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first part as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver & raised there.
